The Day of Judgement: According to the New Testament

What the Bible Says..

For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angles, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done. I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming run his kingdom." (Matthew 16:27, 28).

.. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angles with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other… I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until these things have happened. (Matthew 24: 30-34).

… some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God come with power. (Mark 9:1).

What the Qur'an Says..

They ask you about the Hour (Day of Ressurrection): "What will be its appointed time?" Say:" The knowledge thereof is with my Lord. None can reveal its time but He." (Qur'an, 7:187)

Commentary…

The New Testament says that Jesus (pbuh) told his disciples that their generation would not pass away until the kingdom of God comes and each person is rewarded according to what he had done. Their generation and tens of generations passed away and these things have not happened.

Did Prophet Jesus (pbuh) lie or did the writers of the books?

Muslims believe in Prophet Jesus (pbuh) and believe that everything he said was true because it was revelation from Allah who sent him.

Allah states in the Qur'an that no one knows the time of the Day of Judgement except Him. Prophet Jesus (pbuh) declared that he had no knowledge of its appointment time:

No-one knows about that day or hour, not even the angles in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. (Matthew 24: 36)
